Texas Roofer Bret Hannah, President of Rhino Tuff Roofing, is a residential roofer in Leon Valley.
The last 15 months have reeked havoc on roofs in the central Texas area. The March 2014 hails storms, along with the heavy rains this Spring, have left many homes with roofs that need repairs. Roof repair permits are running significantly higher than normal.
The largest surge in re-roofing permits occurred during 2014, just after the Spring storms that year, however, many residents were not able to complete repairs during 2014 and are only now discovering the extent of the damages done then. Further aggravating the problem has been the unusually wet Spring experienced this year.
Bret Hannah, owner of Rhino Tuff Roofing in Copperas Cove, discussed homeowner response following the hailstorm.
“In the beginning, a lot of people don’t even know they have a problem,” Hannah said. “When they see other neighbors getting their roofs done and guys knocking at their doors (to check their roofs), then they decide to get it looked at. About 30 to 40 days after the storm, we saw a surge in business.”
Hannah added that many customers who waited to get their roofs fixed after the hailstorm began calling in “during and after this year’s rain.”
If you even remotely think you may have a problem with your roof do not hesitate to have it checked by a professional. The sooner you know the sooner you will be able to fix any problems and reduce or eliminate the potential for long term water damage to the strucuture of your home. Small problems can quickly become major expenses if not treated while the problem is small.
